Skyline Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 14, 2026
TL;DR
Skyline does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything happens on your iPhone.
What we collect
Nothing. Skyline has no servers, no analytics, no third-party SDKs, and no telemetry of any kind. We have no way to know who uses the app, when, or how.
What stays on your device
- Boarding pass photos you select or capture
- Parsed flight details (airline, flight number, route, date, seat, class, passenger name, PNR)
- Your flight history and the globe view rendered from it
These are stored in a local SwiftData database inside the Skyline app sandbox on your iPhone. Apple's standard device backup may include this database in your encrypted iCloud or local backup if you have those enabled — that backup is between you and Apple.
Permissions we request
- Camera — only when you tap "Use camera" to capture a boarding pass directly. We do not record video or audio.
- Photo library — only when you tap "Pick from library" to select an existing photo. We use Apple's PHPickerViewController, which means Skyline only sees the photos you explicitly hand to the picker — we never have access to your full library.
Both permissions are entirely optional. The app will work without them if you enter flights manually.
What we don't do
- We don't have a server.
- We don't use analytics (Firebase, Mixpanel, Sentry, etc.).
- We don't include any third-party SDKs.
- We don't sell, rent, or share data.
- We don't display ads or use ad-tracking identifiers.
- We don't read your photo library beyond the photos you explicitly select.
- We don't transmit your boarding passes anywhere — parsing is fully on-device using Apple's Vision and Foundation Models frameworks.
Children
Skyline does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this policy ever changes — for example, if we add an opt-in cloud sync feature in a future version — we'll update this page and call out the change in the app's release notes. Continuing to use the app after a change indicates acceptance of the new policy.
